Rifle Training
PMT AR-15 Familiarization and Basic Rifle Marksmanship.
PREREQUISITES: None
This course is ideal for a new "AR" owner to learn AR basics and get a solid platform to learn from.
Ok, you finally got a "black rifle" or decided to learn to use the one you have, this is your class. Students will learn how to break down, clean, maintain, troubleshoot problems and re-assemble their AR's. Students will learn how and why their AR functions and how to use all the fire controls. Students will learn how to properly load, unload, fire and deal with common malfunctions. Students will take part in several live fire range drills such as how and why to "zero" your rifle, learning effective reload strategies, and point or aim / point of impact adjustments. Instructors will also cover some common accessories that are common in the "AR" world and why you may want or not want them on your rifle. Students who complete this course will have a solid practical understanding of their rifle system from maintenance to basic marksmanship. This course will take one full day.
Course cost is $100.00 per student which includes all student materials* and certificate of completion.
*Students will be responsible for providing an "AR" platform rifle in safe and function state, no less than 2 magazines for their rifle, 50 rounds of ammunition and eye / ear protection, many if not all of these will be available from local sporting goods stores or the if sponsored by a gun shop, that location may have those items for your convenience.
PMT "CQE" Rifle & Handgun:
PREREQUISITES: (One or more of the following) NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course, or another similar class from us or another reputable training school. Military members with a DD214 that shows successful handgun qualification will meet this standard. Students should also have completed a basic AR rifle course from us or another reputable training school. Military members, Vets and or LEO's with M-16 / M-4 training meet this requirement.
This course is best suited for those who have basic rifle "AR" style and handgun skills and want to take their skills to the next level of how, when and why to properly transition from weapon platforms.
In this two day course, students will learn to effectively use a "AR" platform weapon system in concert with a secondary weapon system (handgun) while under stress, on the move, while using proper cover / concealment and while dealing with malfunctions. This course will also show effective tactical use of shooting from various positions and stances. This course will also teach students how transition from strong side to weak side and why. students will learn how, when and why to transition to a secondary weapon platform. Students will learn proper use of mag carriers and various vest set ups and why where your gear is matters. Students will learn how to effectively work with a shooting partner and why spoken and un-spoken communication is critical to success and safety.
Course cost is $200.00 per student which includes all student materials* and certificate of completion.
*Students will be responsible for providing an "AR" platform rifle in safe and functioning state, no less than 3 magazines for their rifle, 100 rounds of rifle ammunition, handgun in safe and functioning state (9mm /.38 or larger), no less than 3 magazines or speed loaders / moon clips (for revolver shooters), for their handgun, 75 rounds of handgun ammunition, some method of carrying all magazines such as belt pouches or tactical vests. Pockets are not an option for mag carry in this class and this will not be accepted for training and eye / ear protection, many if not all of these will be available from local sporting goods stores or the if sponsored by a gun shop, that location may have those items for your convenience.
PMT Precision Rifle 1:
PREREQUISITES: Students are expected to have basic firearms safety and handling skills and general knowledge of their rifle, ammunition selection and optic system.
This course has been designed to give students the abilities, skills and knowledge to understand the equipment, skills, environment, weather conditions and other factors that influence tactical precision marksmanship. Students will also learn how to select the right gear and setup for changing shot parameters. Introduction to tactical movement and target stalking will also be covered in this class. The class is also well suited to those wishing to get better skilled at non-tactical long range marksmanship such as big game hunters.
PMT Precision Rifle 2:
PREREQUISITES: PMT Precision Rifle 1 or equivalent training from another reputable school. This is not a basic course and students should have the skills and abilities necessary to consistently and successfully engage targets out to and past 500 yards.
This course is designed for those who have taken PMT Precision Rifle 1 and want to take those skills to the next level where advanced concepts of stalking, camouflage, movement, improvised shooting positions and other tactical skills while maintaining precision shot placement.
